Best part is is that it is NOT grey market, but a legit US lens, so that's a good thing (not that I really care for $300). So hopefully if all goes well, I'll have the lens back in a week and can check off one of my lens purchases for this year... Next up is a 24-70 f/2.8 to complement or replace my 24-120.
The 28mm f/2.8 comes in two versions, a legacy-styled SE version that is a kit lens available with the Zfc camera, and the "regular" Z System style (shown above). It's a compact lens at only 2.8" (70mm) long, and a light one, too (5.5 ounces, or 155g).
I've actually added it to one of my two-lens travel kits (with the 14-30mm) that make sense for Z System users. The trickiest part is the price. The 24-70mm f/4 sells at discount as a kit lens, and is a highly competent performer. At US$1200, the 28-75mm f/2.8 is overpriced enough to push most people elsewhere in their mid-range lens choice.

Close focusing: capture images from a min distance of 0.63 feet from your subject. Custom control ring: Turn the ring on the lens to control focusing, aperture, ISO or exposure compensation.
Any new but faulty camera or lens equipment will be replaced within 28 days. After this period any faulty equipment will be sent to an authorized Nikon repair centre for repair under warranty. Once we receive your item, we will inspect it and send you notification of its receipt.
