The 28mm f/2.8 comes in two versions, a legacy-styled SE version that is a kit lens available with the Zfc camera, and the "regular" Z System style (shown above). It's a compact lens at only 2.8" (70mm) long, and a light one, too (5.5 ounces, or 155g).
The Nikon 28-75mm f/2.8 was a surprise announcement in December of 2021 for a lens not on any previous road map. Moreover, the odd specification made everyone immediately think of the Tamron Di lens that appeared in the Sony FE mount.

Nikon refers to the 17-28mm f/2.8 as a “compact” lens. That turns out to be 4” long (101mm) and 3” (75mm) in diameter. Weight comes in at just about a pound (460g). Included with the lens is an HB-107 lens hood, and Nikon refers to the lens as resistant to dust and drips.
Coma performance top. Coma, or sagittal coma flare, is often seen with fast normal to wide lenses as weird batwing shapes on bright points of light in the corners at night. This lens has some coma at f/2.8 in the corners on full-frame, which greatly improves at f/4 and is completely gone by f/5.6.
20 Σεπ 2022 · Compared Recommendations. The Z 17-28mm f/2.8 is a brilliant lens, very similar to the midrange Nikon Z 28-75mm f/2.8. They're both a fast f/2.8, cover a useful zoom range, focus super-close, are very light weight and very reasonably priced. They're both winners!
