The nine regions are smaller than the four abdominopelvic quadrants and include the right hypochondriac, right lumbar, right illiac, epigastric, umbilical, hypogastric (or pubic), left hypochondriac, left lumbar, and left illiac divisions.

3 Νοε 2023 · The predominantly soft tissue structure of the abdominal walls gives them the flexibility to adjust to the dynamics of the abdominal viscera. For easier clinical orientation, abdomen is divided into four quadrants and nine regions. Quadrants include left upper, left lower, right upper and right lower.
