7 Ιαν 2017 · The Nisqually, living on a reservation in Nisqually River valley in western Washington State, is a Native American tribe that speaks the Lushootseed language, a subgroup belonging to the Salishan family of Native Indian Languages.
Involve our elders in fishermen and hunters to teach our traditional living to the youth. We hope to develop oral histories with our elders, plan construction of a longhouse and canoe landing. We hope to develop production of cultural education materials and have culture focus groups and planning.
Summer camp is a fun, recreational learning program that includes culture activities, crafts, reading, field trips, skill building, prevention, and social skills. This program is seven weeks long and we serve 75 students during the summer months.
