Name index to death and burial records from the state of New Jersey. Microfilm copies of these records are available at the Family History Library and Family History Centers.
This database indexes death certificates filed with the New Jersey Department of Health from June 1878 through December 1900. It includes 628,584 records. Note that in addition to death certificates, the database also includes some burial, reburial, transit, and disinterment permits (denoted as "BP", "RP", "TP", and "DI" respectively).
