VaHomeschoolers frequently receives queries from homeschoolers about how to write the curriculum description required by law to be submitted with the annual Notice of Intent. A curriculum description is required no matter which filing option is used. (Code of Virginia, §22.1-254.1 B)

I am providing notice of my intention to provide home instruction for the child(ren) listed below as provided for by §22.1.-254.1 of the Code of Virginia, in lieu of having them attend school.
Some school districts develop their own Notice of Intent (NOI) forms. Some districts may also include instructions for the submission process as well as forms such as immunization forms or a notice of homeschool discontinuance.
