By establishing clear expectations and best practices, the Standards for Accreditation uphold the integrity of Arkansas's educational system, fostering environments where students can thrive academically and schools can operate efficiently.
These documents include expectations for what all students should know and be able to do. The standards also include teacher notes, which will help all teachers across the state implement the new standards with fidelity. Full implementation of these standards began in the 2017-2018 school year.
State Board of Education Approves Cut Scores for New Statewide Assessment System. Last spring, students in Arkansas took a new state test called ATLAS – the Arkansas Teaching, Learning, and Assessment System. It replaces the old state test and is aligned to Arkansas grade-level standards.
