19 Φεβ 2024 · Residents and nonresidents ages 16 and older need a fishing license to fish in North Dakota. Those under 16 can fish without a license if they qualify. Licenses are valid for one year from April 1 to March 31 of the following year.
Nonresidents are restricted to species of deer described on license. For residents, any deer is legal. Youth Deer: Residents who turn age 11, 12 or 13 in 2022 – antlerless whitetailed deer only. Residents who turn age 14 or 15 in 2022 – any deer is legal.
Both residents and non-residents are required to purchase a Fishing, Hunting, Furbearer Certificate before they are allowed to procure a fishing license in the state of Dakota. The certificate can only be purchased by an angler once every year, and it costs $1.00 (residents) and $2.00 (non-residents).
Combination License (ages 16 and older) - includes fishing, general game and habitat, small game and furbearer licenses. *Need only purchase one per year per licensee. Fishing License (ages 15 and younger not required, except for paddlefish tags, which are required for all paddlefish snaggers.)
