Unable to open Norton device security for Mac on Apple Silicon M1 devices. Applicable for: Mac. This problem occurs only on Apple Silicon M1 (ARM) devices after upgrading your Mac operating system to macOS Big Sur 11.5 or later version.
To fix this problem, restart your Mac. If the problem persists, remove and reinstall Norton device security product for Mac. Before running the RemoveNortonMacFiles tool, make sure that you have uninstalled the Norton device security product on your Mac.
27 Μαρ 2021 · Do not use any Norton products on your Mac. They do nothing but suck resources. If you really feel the need for antivirus on your Mac, there are way, way better options.
24 Μαΐ 2022 · My specific issue was that Norton (nor McAfee) would install in a Parallels virtual machine running W11 when the underlying computer is an M1 chip Mac. I do not know if either program will install on the Mac side as I was not trying to do that.
25 Μαρ 2022 · If you’re still having problems downloading macOS Big Sur, try to find the partially-downloaded macOS 11 files and a file named ‘Install macOS 11’ on your hard drive.
6 Ιουν 2024 · I just installed Norton on a Mac Parallels VM and there is a major new update. I noticed that the install download was a DMG file and then the install was completely updated. After installation, the entire product is updated and has a new interface and features.
1 Δεκ 2023 · Norton 360 for Windows is downloading but failed to validate and install. A red “Error msg” appears, the only option is to delete downloaded files. There is no error code. I am using the latest version of Parallels to run Windows 11 on a Mac. The Mac is Apple M3 silicon.
