Having a map handy or using apps like Waze or Google Maps is advised. If you plan to stay only in Playa Guiones and the Nosara area, you might not need a car. Most hotels are a short walk to restaurants, beaches, and shopping areas.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS FROM SAN JOSE TO NOSARA. Be sure to turn your Waze or other app you may use for driving and read the following directions: Exit the Juan Santamaria Airport and follow the road straight towards downtown San Jose. Ask the rental car staff to point you towards Autopista del Sol (Highway 27).

6 Αυγ 2024 · (When it comes to driving in Costa Rica, Google Maps can’t be fully trusted.) If you’re coming from Liberia airport, plan to take Route 21 all the way to Nicoya. Once you reach Nicoya, take Route 150 all the way to Nosara.
Google maps provides 2 options with comparable travel time: 1. Route 21 to Nicoya and then Route 150 approaching Nosara from the south. 2. Route 21 to Santa Cruz and then Route 160 approaching Nosra from the north.
