Care Compare. Care Compare formats the reported data to be readily used by the public, which provides a snapshot of the quality of care for each SNF. This tool helps families compare some key quality metrics, such as pressure ulcers and readmissions, for over 15,000 SNFs across the nation.
The CAHPS Nursing Home Surveys assess the experiences of nursing home residents and family members: The Long-Stay Resident Instrument captures both quality of life and quality of care from the residents’ perspective.
Short-stay resident quality measures show the average level of a nursing home’s performance in certain areas of care for those who stayed in a nursing home for 100 days or less or are covered under the Medicare Part A Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) benefit.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Nursing Home Compare website’s star-rating system for individual nursing homes are calculated using three aspects of quality: process measures (like those examined by Xu et al), nurse staffing (a structural measure) and inspections (focused largely on processes of care).
The measurement and reporting of quality of care for nursing homes, home health agencies, and hospice care has expanded in recent years, largely due to efforts by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
10 Δεκ 2020 · Nursing home quality indicators are often used to publicly report the quality of nursing home care. In Switzerland, six national nursing home quality indicators covering four clinical domains (polypharmacy, pain, use of physical restraints and weight loss) were recently developed.
