6 Αυγ 2020 · Primary care nurse practitioners are in a visible and critical position to screen, diagnose, and treat common mental health conditions. Integrated care models occur on a continuum from simple communication between providers to fully integrated interprofessional teams.
The content analysis found that the participants used a psychodynamic framework for understanding the causes of mental distress but described the nursing interventions in terms of supporting a medical model of care. Nursing care is dominated by a medical model which constrains mental health nursing.
Each letter refers to one of the six components of the nursing process: Assessment, Diagnosis, Outcomes Identification, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation. The nursing process is a continuous, cyclic process that is constantly adapting to the patient’s current health status.
