Access federal case documents in real-time if you know the specific court the case was filed in by logging into PACER. Case files may also be accessed from the public access terminals in the clerk’s office of the court where the case was filed.
PACER provides the public with instantaneous access to more than 1 billion documents filed at all federal courts. Registered users can: Search for a case in the federal court where the case was filed, or; Search a nationwide index of federal court cases.
PACER provides access to the case summary, docket entries, and copies of documents filed in federal cases. If a paper document is needed, or if a case cannot be located when searching by case number, party name, or using the U.S. Party Case Index (USPCI ) then contact the Court to request a court record.
Enter at least the index number and year to find results, or select case type and court type for an exact match. If you don't know the format of the case number you are trying to search, you can enter the case number separately from the year. The year is optional.

Court Records. The main type of record the federal courts create and maintain is a case file, which contains a docket sheet and all documents filed in a case. Case files and court records can be found on PACER.gov.
