All courses beginning on or after November 1, 2021 must meet this requirement. Any courses currently being conducted may use this process as an alternative to the ten (10) hour clinical requirement.

EMT Course Policies & Procedures The pre-hospital care emergency medical training programs sponsored by the Erie County Emergency Medical Services Division are designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills to achieve a NYS Health Department Certification. The NYS Health Dept. and the Erie County Emergency Medical Services Division
Clinical and Field Experiences: 24 hours includes: 1- twelve hour New York City 911 ambulance tour, and 1- twelve hour core ambulance tour. Emergency Room rotations are also available at system facilities, and are optional to students upon having completed the required ambulance experiences.
This course EMS 110 will lead to certification as a New York State or National Registry EMT. This is the entry level certification for a career in Emergency Medical Services. Students must complete physical exam and immunization requirements prior to participating in this program.
