The Living Environment Core Curriculum has been writ-ten to assist teachers and supervisors as they prepare curriculum, instruction, and assessment for the Living Environment component of Standard 4 of the New York State Learning Standards for Mathematics, Science, and Technology. The Regents Examination in Living Environment measures student achievement against the NYS Learning Standards. The exam is prepared by teacher examination committees and New York State Education Department (NYSED) subject matter and testing specialists.
The New York State Regents Examination in Living Environment has three cut scores, which are set at the scale scores of 55, 65, and 85. One of the primary considerations during test construction was to select items so as to minimize changes in the raw scores corresponding to these scale scores.
First column in the table is for the independent variable. Second column is another for the dependent variable. Each column should be titled, and include units of measurement. Data in the table must be arranged in ascending or descending order. Both the x and y axis of the graph must be labeled or titled.
