- Curricular Overview
The NYU Tisch Undergraduate Film & Television curriculum integrates theory, practice, history and craft studies in order to provide a stimulating context for the creative and artistic expression of young filmmakers.
Each semester, courses in screenwriting, directing, aesthetics, acting, cinematography, editing, producing, and sound design complement specific filmmaking projects that provide hands-on training.
Undergraduate Film and Television majors are given priority in FMTV-UT coursework. The NYU Tisch Graduate Film program provides an intensive laboratory in writing/directing as well as concentrations in all other areas of filmmaking. Each student makes at least four short films during their three years in the program, plus a thesis project.
