Oasis adalah band rock asal Inggris yang dibentuk di Manchester pada tahun 1991. Pada awalnya menggunakan nama the Rain, grup ini dibentuk oleh Liam Gallagher ( vokal ) , Paul Arthurs ( gitar ) , Paul McGuigan ( bass ) , dan Tony McCarroll ( drum dan perkusi ) , hingga kemudian ikut bergabung pula kakak Liam, Noel Gallagher ( gitar dan vokal ) .
Oasis signed to independent record label Creation Records in 1993 and released their record-setting debut album Definitely Maybe (1994), which topped the UK Albums Chart and quickly became the fastest-selling debut album in British history at the time.
Frontman Liam Gallagher wrote a number of songs for Oasis starting in 2000, including singles "Songbird" and "I'm Outta Time". After joining the band in 1999, guitarist Gem Archer wrote and co-wrote six songs for Oasis – four album tracks and two B-sides.
