There is usually a displaced fracture in the radius and a dislocation of the ulna at the wrist, where the radius and ulna come together. Monteggia fracture. This injury affects both bones of the forearm.
Distal third radius and ulna fractures in older children are suitably managed with immobilisation that does not extend above the elbow. In young children, extending the splint or cast above the elbow may assist to prevent slippage of the immobilisation device on the chubby forearm (Figure 1B).

Oblique fractures occur when your bone is broken at an angle. The fracture is a straight line that’s angled across the width of your bone. They’re usually caused by landing on your bone at an angle after a fall, or when your bone is hit suddenly from an angle (like in a car accident).
The ESIN method involves closed reduction and internal fixation with an elastic nail. This method is a commonly used treatment option for displaced and/or unstable fractures of the forearm. It can be used in any age group and any combination of fracture types.
