16 Ιουν 2023 · The vast majority of fetuses at term are in cephalic presentation. Approximately 5 percent of these fetuses are in a cephalic malpresentation, such as occiput posterior or transverse, face (figure 1A-B), or brow . Brow presentation constitutes an absolute foeto-pelvic disproportion, and vaginal delivery is impossible (except with preterm birth or extremely low birth weight). This is an obstetric emergency, because labour is obstructed and there is a risk of uterine rupture and foetal distress.
