21 Αυγ 2024 · Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD or ADD) and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) are among the most commonly diagnosed neuropsychiatric disorders. The two conditions, which have overlapping symptoms and are thought to share underlying deficits, also have substantial comorbidity rates.
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are two of the most common neuropsychiatric diseases in paediatric populations. The high comorbidity of ADHD and OCD with each other, especially of ADHD in paediatric OCD, is well described.
12 Αυγ 2019 · CBT+ERP has demonstrated efficacy for children and adults with OCD, but untreated co-morbid ADHD diminishes treatment response on the OCD . Stimulant treatment improves attention, conscious learning and retention of CBT skills and allows patients to apply skills when obsessive thoughts recur.
The present case report highlights that treatment with psychostimulants in addition to a serotonin reuptake inhibitor can improve the obsessive–compulsive symptoms as well as the ADHD-specific symptoms in patients with ADHD and OCD comorbidity.

29 Σεπ 2023 · Abstract. Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) affects up to 4% of children and adolescents (Nazeer et al., 2020). Childhood OCD impairs overall quality of life, particularly in familial, social and academic settings.
ADHD with a comorbid condition may be indicative of one disorder being an early manifestation of the other, or that development of one disorder increases the risk for the other. Another possibility is that one disorder is a subtype of the other (conduct disorder and ADHD may be a subtype of ADHD).
