15 Φεβ 2014 · Ocular manifestations are common in patients with rosacea, with characteristic symptoms of redness, irritation or burning of the eyes. In my experience, most dermatologists prescribe 50mg to 100mg doxycycline or minocycline QD to BID for the treatment of rosacea.
This Clinical Management Guideline outlines the aetiology, signs and symptoms and evidence-based recommendations for diagnosing and treating ocular rosacea. It provides recommendations for non-pharmaceutical management and pharmacological treatment, and highlights the need for urgent referral if keratitis is severe.

To relieve the dry eye associated with ocular rosacea, artificial tears and lubricating agents are used. Systemic, subantimicrobial tetracyclines (doxycycline, minocycline) and macrolides (azithromycin) are thought to decrease inflammation associated with rosacea and are often first-line agents for patients with moderate disease.
