13 Ιουλ 2023 · The Food Assistance Program − known nationally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) − helps eligible Ohioans stretch their food budgets and buy healthy food. Food assistance benefits are distributed electronically through the Ohio Direction Card, which is similar to a debit card.
Ohio Direction Card customers can shop at local farmers' markets for locally grown foods. Application to accept Ohio Direction Card must apply with Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) to become a certified Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) retailer.
The Ohio EBT Card, known as the Ohio Direction Card, is like a bank debit card and holds the food assistance also known as SNAP benefits assigned to you each month. Once your benefits are deposited into your account, you can begin using them with your Ohio Direction Card.
How will you receive your SNAP benefits? Your SNAP benefits will be made available to you on the Ohio Direction Card. Your Ohio Direction Card is a debit card. This means you cannot use more benefits than you are eligible to receive.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, helps people with low incomes buy healthy food. If you qualify for Ohio’s Food Assistance Program you’ll receive an Ohio Direction Card, which is like a special debit care for buying groceries.
If you qualify for SNAP you’ll receive an Ohio Direction Card, or EBT Card, in the mail, if you have not previously been issued one, which is like a debit card for buying groceries. You can use this card at approved stores and farm markets to buy the food you need.
