Founded in 1803, the Ohio Supreme Court is the state's court of last resort and has seven judgeships. The current chief of the court is Sharon Kennedy. In 2018, the court decided 2,188 cases. As of January 2023, there were four Republican and three Democratic judges on the court.
23 Αυγ 2018 · At the Ohio Supreme Court, Judges Samuel Huntington and George Tod agreed in Rutherford v. M’Faddon. Judge Daniel Symmes dissented from the Court’s ruling. Members of the Ohio House believed that the Court didn’t have the right to find a statute unconstitutional, and they brought impeachment charges against Tod and Pease on Dec. 24, 1808.
