The first factory in the county was built to provide drainage tiles for these farmers to dry their land out enough to keep their crops from drowning. Farmers installed these tiles by the miles by hand, on average about 3 feet deep, draining the groundwater to the nearest ditch or stream.
12 Δεκ 2010 · As mentioned, I had found while looking in this exposed pit with the clean outs that my basement ,presumable , has old 50's style clay drain tiles around the basement. I can see them on either side of the ' pit ' and they do fill with water during heavy rains, further causing this ' pit ' to fill.
18 Απρ 2018 · 1. Tiling is totally unregulated. Tiling is one of the most highly regulated activities affecting farmers. Several federal, state and local agencies have regulatory authority under various federal, state and local laws, rules and ordinances allowing review of drainage projects.
There's a field tile that was put in probably in the 60s that runs all through the surrounding farms/lots from when it was all one big farm. The land is fairly flat and I've got some drainage issues. I believe it's related to clogged or collapsed tiles.
