This is a list of locks and dams along the Ohio River. Lock No. 31, built from 1915 to 1917, included a one-story Classical Revival style powerhouse topped with a 60-foot smokestack. 1 Accompanying the powerhouse were two 1½-story bungalows, a seven-bay garage, a blacksmith shop, and a steel water tank.

Today, there are 21 locks on the Ohio River. Nine locks are located along the Ohio portion of the Ohio River Scenic Byway. Of these, many produce hydroelectricity and some have recreation areas for the public.
The McAlpine Locks and Dam are a set of locks and a hydroelectric dam at the Falls of the Ohio River at Louisville, Kentucky. They are located at mile point 606.8, and control a 72.9 miles (117.3 km) long navigation pool.
