23 Νοε 2012 · My wife no longer is able to help me handle our 17' Grumman aluminum standard canoe. I am considering buying a "one man loader" that connects to the towing receiver and allow one to connect one end of the boat to its "T" top and then to walk (rotate) the front end around to the front of the vehicle, three to set it down on pads or a roof rack.
23 Νοε 2012 · Re: One man canoe loader Wehnonah, Mad River and Old Town make a variety of Royalex and Kevlar canoes that are much lighter and handle so much better than that Grumman beast that you would wonder why you had not upgraded years ago.
I bought this canoe as a day tripping solo for mini adventures back in spring of 2019 and it has become my favorite (own a 15' tandem, 17' cargo, 14' kayak also). The Disco 119 handles well on fast rivers and creeks. It is maneuverable and stable in class I, II and III rapids.
