17 Ιουν 2021 · LimeWire is a discontinued peer-to-peer file sharing client. It was shut down in 2010 after a copyright infringement lawsuit. I found some older versions to put them here for LimeWire fans.
LimeWire, which uses the gnutella network along with the BitTorrent protocol, is free to download and use and latest versions include filters to make downloading safer. LimeWire was launched in 2000 and the aim was to give users direct access via a router to the Gnutella system, the first decentralized P2P network.
I'm actually surprised me and my family didn't get any horrible porn videos when we used it. The worst we got were small viruses, but my brother fixed that easily. (as well as lost all my old artwork. Asshole.)

LimeWire versions 5.5.11 and newer feature an auto-update feature that allowed Lime Wire LLC to disable newer versions of the LimeWire software. Older versions of LimeWire prior to version 5.5.11, however, do not include the auto-update feature and are still fully functional.
