An easy drive from both Invercargill and Bluff, the quaint area of Omaui will not leave you disappointed. At Greenhills, turn off the main road and follow roads surrounded by bush to Omaui. The drive is most spectacular in December and January when rata and clematis flowers are in full bloom.
Omaui is a small coastal village in Southland region, New Zealand. It is located approximately 20 km southwest of Invercargill near a small estuary opposite Sandy Point between Invercargill and Bluff. The New Zealand Ministry for Culture and Heritage gives a translation of "place of Māui" for Ōmaui. [3]
