Firstly, it is necessary to know how to tie the required knots and lashings, secondly, you must have spars or poles from which to build your project. The next consideration is ropes and pulleys to bridge and secure your project and lastly some know how and loads of common sense. Each project should be approached in a logical way:-
Step 1 - Build the 2 trestles. Lay out 2 sets of spars as shown in the diagram and lash the spars together with a square lashing where they cross. (Note: Ensure the lashing at the crossing point of the longest spars is done well.) Step 2 - Lay out the long ropes.
