16 Three case study approaches: Designing Case Study Dimension of interest Robert Yin Robert Stake Sharan Merriam Designing Case Study Design refers to the logical sequence that connects the empirical data to a study's initial research questions and, ultimately, to its conclusions.
The case study method embraces the full set of procedures needed to do case study research. These tasks include designing a case study, collecting the study's data, analyzing the data, and presenting and reporting the results.
Case studies typically examine the interplay of all variables in order to provide as complete an understanding of an event or situation as possible.
