17 Νοε 2022 · Open baffle (OB) speakers seem to be becoming more and more popular at the moment. The possible advantages of an OB speaker do not need to be listed here, they can be found on every manufacturer's website or audio forums.
8 Μαΐ 2024 · This project is to build a full-range, open-baffle, reference speaker for use in small to large rooms (I move a lot). I have owned and enjoyed full-range speakers before (Omega Super Alnico XRS) but only listened to open baffle (Lii Song Leonidis, dipole panels).
What is an open-baffle speaker? Speakers with an open baffle used to be quite common: take a wooden board, cut a hole, put the speaker in, a bit of soldering and it works. Audio enthusiasts also call this construction affectionately 'the sounding board'.

Excellent bass extension, with natural mids, and refined highs. They need room to breathe. Can’t place them too close to walls.
5 Απρ 2017 · This post will have a list of links to complete documented open baffle designs that you can (or could) build yourself. Both passive and active (and hybrid) are included. This is for those who want to build but not design.
The key to these designs is the use of active crossovers and EQ filters to produce sufficient low frequency output. Some examples of OB speaker systems that use passive crossovers are Danny Richie’s OB-5 and OB-7(4), the Jamo R 909(5) and Hawthorne Audio’s Solo(6).
