Once you are admitted and receive an I-20 from CCC, DVC, or LMC, you have two options to change your nonimmigrant status: A. File the I-539 Application to Extend/Change Nonimmigrant Status in the U.S. -or-B. Departing the U.S., applying for an F-1 visa abroad with a new initial CCC/DVC/LMC I-20, and reentering the U.S. on that new I-20.
