This paper explores the power of personality traits both as predictors and as causes of academic and economic success, health, and criminal activity. Measured personality is interpreted as a construct derived from an economic model of preferences, constraints, and information.
1 Οκτ 2015 · Research on the link between intelligence and economic decision making is a recent development in the more general attempt to introduce theories of individual differences and personality traits into the analysis of economic behavior.
In Chapter 4, Chiu, Hong, and Dweck propose an integrative model of personality and intelligence. They propose that both intelligence and personality can be under-stood at three basic levels: the level of basic processes, the level of the knowledge base, and the level of actualized behavior.
In this chapter, we will briefly review intelligence research, with particular attention to general intelligence (IQ), emotional intelligence (EQ), and multiple intelligences. Moreover, we will discuss organizational research that considers the role of different intelligences, especially with respect to job performance.
