20 Σεπ 2021 · Today marks a historic day for OSA, as the organization changes its name to Optica, the society advancing optics and photonics worldwide. Its new name reinforces the society’s position as the leading forum for advancing light science and technology. It also reflects its diverse global community.
Optica (formerly OSA), Advancing Optics and Photonics Worldwide, is the society dedicated to promoting the generation, application, archiving and dissemination of knowledge in the field. Founded in 1916, it is the leading organization for scientists, engineers, business professionals, students and others interested in the science of light.
1 Οκτ 2021 · As of 20 September 2021, the organization born 105 years ago as the Optical Society of America (OSA) takes on a new name: Optica. The new name reflects profound changes—in the organization, in optical science and technology, in the world at large—since the society’s founding a century ago.

28 Οκτ 2021 · After more than a century, the world’s leading champion for optics and photonics has a new name. Optica (formerly The Optical Society of America) is a reflection of the society’s global reach and commitment to continuous growth and inclusivity.
