10 Ιουν 2010 · We have an Oracle 10g Enterprise Edition installation (10.2.0.1.0) on a Windows Server 2003 virtual machine. It was initially created with Virtual Server 2005 R2 SP1 but has now been migrated to Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V. The services start on system boot, but the instance does not start up.

Starting with 10 g (9.0.4), each application server instance, by default, requires an Application Server Control and Management Agent to be running from its Oracle home. To fix the problem, you must start the Application Server Control for the instance you want to manage:
