1 Μαρ 2024 · On 13 November 2020, type 2 novel oral polio vaccine (nOPV2) became the first vaccine to be authorized for use under the WHO Emergency Use Listing (EUL) mechanism. The use of nOPV2 is restricted to outbreak response for type 2 circulating vaccine-derived polioviruses (cVDPV2).
Vaccination is recommended for certain adults who are at greater risk for exposure to polioviruses than the general population. Unvaccinated adults who are at increased risk should receive a primary vaccination series with IPV.
