15 Ιουλ 2015 · Knowing that, I keep a list of reel sizes (only of reels models I own, or owned) & their specs that includes diameter, capacity and the manufacturer's stated weight, AND the rod I pair it with as reference for future parings based on what I consider my ideal balance point with a rod, regardless of what it is made of.

21 Φεβ 2023 · I'm considering a multiplier as my next steelie reel and recently started reading about this Orvis reel. Sounds like it's a solid reel and at 3 3/4" would be just the size I'm looking for. Anyone have any experience with this reel?
29 Αυγ 2005 · Some of the reel's finer points included a recessed counterweight, rounded edges, ported spool and a neoprene pouch. It came in 4 sizes simply known as the I, II, III & IV. The attached chart below indicates the line weight and capacity for each reel.
The DXR was made by Lamson for Orvis. This has a 3 3/4" diameter with a 1 5/8" frame width. This reel consists of a large arbor design for faster retrieval and less line memory, a powerful adjustable drag system which is sealed helping to protect it from water, sand, and other debris that can damage the reel.
1. Choose Your Target Species. Your target species will determine which line weight (s) are ideal for the rod and accompanying reel. Most reels are designed to handle a range of line weights and the right amount of backing, and balance properly on a coordinating rod.
