PHASE 2. The lighting phase WAS the hardest part until I discovered a pseudo safe spot that u/SaintsFanInVan mentioned in his post. I'm surprised no one talks about this. On the eastern side of the arena with the blood pool and dark squares, there's ONE dark square that lightning doesn't hit.

For ref my inventory was Blowpipe/darts (for bloodveld), 2x prayer pots(4), 2 xSuper combat (4) and the rest high level food like dark crabs/manta rays etc. Maximize magic defence and crush boosts such as myth cape. Its a hard but not impossible fight, good luck!
Protect from Melee is recommended when fighting him, and will block all damage. Dad is non-aggressive, allowing players to set up a safespot. Since his dialogue can be skipped prior to fighting, players can stand next to the entrance gate to the arena and attack Dad from a distance.
2 super combats (half a pot left), 5 super restores (2.5 pots left), 6 brews (1 left), rest manta rays (none left) Was able to dodge all his special attacks on phase one, by walking one tile out of range and back after each of my attacks.
Dad can be safespotted by standing next to the western gate, or standing where the audience is, and attacking with either Ranged or Magic (using a halberd is a good Melee alternative). Note that Dad has high Defence stats against Ranged and Magic, so it may take a little bit before you kill him.
Dad is an abnormally large troll that players must fight during the Troll Stronghold quest. Dad can be re-fought in the Nightmare Zone minigame after the player has completed Troll Stronghold. Since nearly all trolls are named after the thing they first ate, Dad got his name from eating (or trying to eat) his father.
