Melee training involves training Attack, Strength, Defence, and Hitpoints through combat. Ironman melee training is similar to the normal training methods, with a heavy emphasis on Slayer for resources.
The recommended quests for early melee experience are listed in the table below. Completing all of them would give the player a total of 65,275 Attack, 27,537.5 Strength, and 15,300 Defence experience. This would get the player up to level 45 Attack, level 37 Strength, and level 31 Defence without doing any melee training.
Obtain as many useful pieces of quest/activity related combat and utility gear as possible. To overall set you up to be able to grind whatever skills need to be trained for the next quest or set of quests after there’s nothing left to chain together (i.e. the end of the “early game”).
At higher levels, melee stats can be trained in the Nightmare Zone. Using normal customisable rumble with absorption potions offers a very straightforward and the most AFK-able way of training melee stats in the game, allowing the player to stay in combat for 20 minutes without any player input.

For real world practical advice, for 1-70 strength and attack you should train strength until you get a Max hit with your current gear with divine super strength potions, train strength for 3 more levels, then train attack until you unlock a better weapon.
Training your melee lets you defeat a number of bosses.. Also, all 3 raids in Old School require melee. In PvP, there's a range of powerful melee weapons with strong special attacks, like the Dragon Claws, the Armadyl Godsword or the Voidwaker. With the highest strength bonus setup in the game, the max hit in PvP is now 87 with an Armadyl Godsword.
