Inside the temple is an altar which offers extra Prayer experience. It also has a weak portal to the Spirit Realm which rewards the player with 7,500 Prayer experience for using once, and a trapdoor leading to the Chaos Temple Dungeon behind the altar.
For this method, using fairy ring code CIS for faster access to the Dark Altar, and a fast access to fairy rings, such as the fairy ring in the POH, quest point cape, or using the Salve Graveyard Teleport.
Wildy altar is way more gold efficient and only a wee bit less xp. I'd have to do the math, but I'm pretty sure you'd have to do some high koney makers to make up for the lost gp.

Wildy slayer is unmatched, free supplies (blighted restores/mantas/anglers), almost every task is cannon-able or barrage-able, the new wildy weapons give crazy combat exp/hr, and the ammount of points earned per task allows you to skip very frequently, you can basically pick your tasks once you have a slayer point bank built up.
