An Overseas Service Ribbon is a service military award of the United States military which recognizes those service members who have performed military tours outside the borders of the United States of America.
Soldiers who have overseas service with another branch of service (AF, Navy, Marines) must be credited with normal overseas tour completion by that service to qualify for award of the OSR.
This ribbon was designed to recognize military personnel who have served outside the continental United States border (including Hawaii and Alaska). A member can receive this award after they have served 90 days or more at a foreign post and is subsequently rewarded a bronze oak leaf per ribbon.
10 Φεβ 2019 · I have been deployed to Iraq twice and Afghanistan once, stationed in Germany and Korea. I only have 2 overseas service ribbons, and was wondering is that number correct? From reading the regulation, I think I should have 5 reflected on my ERB.
Effective 1 May 2005, the Iraq Campaign Medal (ICM) is the only award authorized for service in the Iraq AOE. See paragraph 14 (f) below for guidelines to determine eligibility for the Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal (GWOTEM) and ICM prior to 1 May 2005.
