The beach here makes up the shoreline between Hollywood Beach to the south and Mandalay Beach to the north. At the center of this stretch of beach is Oxnard Beach Park, a large grassy park with palm trees, picnic tables, barbecues, walking paths, and a pirate-themed playground for kids.
Oxnard State Beach Park is between the Oxnard Shores neighborhood and the Embassy Suites hotel; it's a great place for a walk or BBQ. It can get crowded on weekends, especially holidays. There are clean restrooms and volleyball courts. There is a large children's playground.
Beautiful beaches, sparkling clean sand and water, and not super crowded; Oxnard Beach Park beats almost any beach in LA County hands down. You'll see sand dunes, seagulls, and surf. Great views of the Channel Islands on a clear day.
