17 Μαΐ 2019 · You'll want something in HS 6 range for mid range to factory velocities (980fps Win147 grain). This allows for proper case fill and safe pressures. Loading slower powders at lesser velocities may mean smoke and a dirty gun!
22 Ιαν 2008 · I am loading for IDPA and want a powder that will give great accuracy while maintaining a relatively low power factor, around 130,000. Can anyone recommend a quality powder that is known to be accurate under this expectations.
16 Ιαν 2014 · My manual recommends using the medium burn rate powders for 147gr bullets. Your manual is right. At the risk of oversimplifying, the heavier the bullet, the faster the burn rate of the powder. So a medium-speed powder behind a 147g bullet will behave similar to a fast powder behind a 115g bullet.
13 Ιουλ 2008 · I didn't delve too deep into accuracy testing bet the load seems well suited for a blaster load. I did x2 five shot strings for a total of ten(10) shots fired through the chrono. High was 1846fps LOW 1814.
10 Μαΐ 2009 · Anyone have old loading manuals, powder company phamplets, etc that show data for a 147 grain JHP or FMJ bullet in 9 mm with WW231? ( or HP38 as it's same) I know there's lots of other slower powders out there with data but I have 8 lbs of 231.
15 Μαρ 2021 · I usually load 124 gr copper washed (Barry's) or self-cast wheel weight lead over WIN 236/HP38. Shortages what they are I'm proposing 147 grain FMJ over 4.0 grains of Unique (looks like tiny lumps of coal). The bullet is heavier than I'm used to and a powder I'm unfamiliar with.
