30 Ιουν 2022 · The street price of morphine increased 12% (95% CI=0.5–24.3; p=0.039), and oxycodone had a 12% increase (95% CI=5.6–18.2; p<0.001) in street price. Although percentage changes on the log scale were notable and significant, they represent small absolute differences in mean price per milligram.
HIGHLIGHTS. Street prices per milligram for high- and low-potency opioids increased between April and December 2020 com-pared with the same period in 2019. High-potency opioids hydromorphone and oxymorphone had the highest prices per milligram among analgesics during 2020.

There is a need to identify proactive indicators to better characterize prescription opioid abuse and diversion. A national surveillance program was implemented to monitor prescription opioid street price trends as an indicator of availability, demand, and abuse potential.

The mean price was $3.95/mg (SD=$23.12/mg). Price decreased 3.05% each year and was highest in the summer and spring. Brand name buprenorphine was on average 11.18% more expensive than generic buprenorphine. Buprenorphine/naloxone combinations were on average 19.75% less expensive than pure buprenorphine.
