Built at the end of the 60s, this magical theme park retold the story of Dorothy through iconic landmarks, captivating performances and even a colorful 24-ballon ride which provided visitors with spectacular bird’s eye views of the surrounding land. The park opened in 1970 and operated to 1980.

23 Αυγ 2024 · 20 minutes from Banner Elk. 45 minutes from Boone. One hour from Blowing Rock. Two hours from downtown Asheville. Two hours and 15 minutes from Winston-Salem. For weekend getaways, the town is roughly 3 hours from Greensboro and four hours from both Raleigh and Durham.
9 Σεπ 2024 · Most guests spend 2 to 2.5 hours, but you can stay as long as you wish until they close at 6:30 p.m. PRO TIP: Book tickets near the end of the day so that you don’t have to rush through the experience due to other visitors coming in.
