22 Οκτ 2012 · I can use the blueprints of the P-36 four-gun wings and the P-36 fuselage (the part behind the firewall) as the first approximation of the P-40B airframe. They can be augmented by some details from the P-40D/E drawings: the "keel" under the center wing, the flat, larger tailwheel cover, larger main wheels and their simpler fairings.
The Seversky XP-41 was a fighter aircraft built in the United States in 1939. A single prototype was modified from the last production Seversky P-35 by adding a new streamlined canopy, a Pratt & Whitney R-1830 -19 engine with a two-speed supercharger, and revised landing gear. [1] . The XP-41 first flew in March 1939.

31 Μαΐ 2015 · The P-40 was an adequate fighter on all theatres and available in numbers to bride the combat introduction of both the P-47 and P-38 but had to be kept in front deployment until the production numbers enable replacement of both the P-40 and P-39 starting in mid 1943.
