However, P90x does claim that finding an alternative to their formulas is similar to driving a used Honda instead of a brand new Mercedes.
I used to do P90X and now much prefer StrongLifts 5*5. It's quick, leaves you with little muscular stress as it's power orientated and my physic is much better. For me I didn't need the cardio as much, just functional strength. Can't recommend it highly enough.
To find an alternative to P90X, you have to find a DVD series that combines intense strength and cardio workouts.

We are borrowing the p90x series from a friend and don't want to buy the P90X recovery formula or protein bars. Can anyone recommend items that would be similar and still do the job? Are these things really necessary?
