Apply for or Renew Your License. The State Board of Psychology regulates the practice and licensure of psychologists in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The Board passes upon the qualifications and fitness of applicants for licensure and determines whether to issue, deny, suspend, revoke, restrict or renew licenses for psychologists.
Applicants must complete 3 hours of Board-approved continuing education in child abuse recognition and reporting for initial licensure. 30 Hours (when renewing license)
Pennsylvania Licensing System
In the state of Pennsylvania, you must renew your license every two years, or by November 30 of every odd-numbered year. Your first renewal date will be determined by when you first receive your license; it could be one to two years from that point. Missing the deadline for renewal will incur a late fee.
Psychologists who have not received their notices by October 15, 2019 should contact the State Board of Psychology (ST-PSYCHOLOGY@pa.gov) and inquire about the status of their license renewal.
