The USF MCOM Physician Assistant Program strives to recruit and successfully graduate highly qualified candidates of diverse backgrounds. Our admissions committee reviews each applicant’s GPA, GRE, experiences in healthcare, letters of recommendations, prerequisite coursework, and personal narratives.
Our program is an intensive 24-month program which prepares graduates to practice patient-centered, evidence-based medicine in the rapidly changing healthcare environment of the 21st century.
The technical standards presented in this document are prerequisite, non-academic requirements for admission, progression, and graduation from the USF Health Morsani College of Medicine (MCOM) Physician Assistant (PA) Program.
Currently, a master's degree is the minimum requirement for physician assistants to practice. Most physician assistant programs require that you hold a bachelor's degree before matriculation into the program and have extensive clinical healthcare experience.
