Turn off your phone completely (power down) and then remove battery. Give it a few seconds and put battery back on. Battery removal is a MUST as I think doing so completely clears your RAM.

11 Ιουν 2009 · One hardware issue seen with the new pre is that if you close the keyboard ‘firmly’ it seems to jiggle the battery enough that the disruption in power causes the pre to shutdown completely. One person’s fix was to put a piece of paper between the pre and the battery so its tighter.
This is a problem I found on my wife's brand-new Palm Pre: when I'd open the phone app, the screen would flicker on and off and wouldn't stop until I closed the phone app. It was very worrisome, but turned out to have a very simple fix: take off the screen protector!
I've had three issues with my Palm Pre, all of which are common to Pre owners and all of which I've been able to fix with very simple... even embarrassingly primitive fixes. Those issues are: 1) Loose slider mechanism 2) Earpiece and proximity sensor stopped working (speakerphone only worked) 3) LOUSY BATTERY! HERE ARE MY FIXES! 1) Loose slider:
I can't get the power button to turn it on or off, which is why I think it's broken, though extending the keyboard often gets it to the main screen, as does plugging the power cable in, sometimes. I have found a 'Palm Pre User Guide' online, as well as some of 'Palm Pre: The Missing Manual'.
